About Me

Why I started
Weldon's Method.

Vaughn Johnson · Founder

As my wife and I prepared to become parents, I kept returning to a question: what should I be doing to prepare for the responsibility of raising a child?

I had spent a year preparing and writing a history thesis at West Point. Parenthood deserved at least that kind of serious thought. I began studying Scripture, reading parenting books, and writing about what it means to raise children well.

As I considered life after the Army, that work became connected to how I wanted to serve the Lord and other families. I wanted to be an involved father and help parents make room for the family life they hoped to build.

That is why I started Weldon's Method: to help families work out how homeschooling could fit their real responsibilities, with practical help beginning where they are.
